Obviously the Flames know and like what they acquired, that's not an issue.
What surprises me with the timing though, is that Adirondack is short on Cs right now. They just traded Knight, Arnold is hurt, and Granlund is still with the Flames. Yes, Granlund can be sent down, but I just don't see the rush in bringing Shore up.
The obvious guess is that they wanted to add Shore's size for the west coast trip. No question that Granlund has been struggling in the face-off circle, and is outmatched physically against the Kings, Sharks and Ducks, so replacing him with Shore from that perspective makes sense.
As for waivers, it isn't an issue until they actually paly him, but hard to imagine that they bring him up and don't play him. Especially on a 4 game road trip.
