You have two centres next year that are well ahead of his talents. Jooris should be better next year and then you have Granlund who will be a year older. That's 5 guys competing for 3 center positions, if you believe Stajan and his contract are 4th line from now til retirement?
As long as they don't move 1 of the other 4 out to make room for Backs, who is still a candidate for injury - I'll be happy. And, Happy to see him have to compete for his position, something he didn't do since arriving.

In all seriousness, I'm not sure Stajan will stay the entire length of his current contract, which opens up a spot for Jooris as a 4th line center, but he's certainly capable at right wing. Granlund may not end up as a center in the NHL unless he drastically improves his face-offs. In any case, I would put Backlund ahead of all 3 of those guys on any depth chart for the foreseeable future.
