Right now? No one. Boowmeester would be the best fit but I want to see Flames try some young guys at the #4 and #6 spots beside Russell and Wideman respectively and see where that goes. Remember, our stud forwards won't be ready to do anything significant for another two or three years, by which time Giordano will be on the downswing of his career and Brodie will need to be the #1a guy. Boowmeester would also be declining. and that could lead to some missed playoffs years right in the prime of these guys' careers. I'd much rather get younger on that front.
It's not yet time to bring Iginla back, but I want him back for a season or two to end his career and hopefully even win a cup with us. Well, I want us to win a cup period, but if he's there it would be even that much more special.
For now, I'd like Mikka Kiprusoff on the flames. While he wasn't the best goaltender in the league his last few years, he was still mostly dependable. Those mistakes during the 8 game losing skid really changed the style of play going forward - you don't see our dmen pinch half as much, and that's because they have no confidence in our goaltending in the case of a breakaway. The Flames need to get back to truly playing their system and grow in that system.
The Flame i really want back right now is Ian White though. I think he's a true #4/#5 that's all-around solid and would make a huge difference for this team as a cheap and easily acquired little stop-gap. He's a good skater, great shotblocker, and has a nice little wrister. But everyone thinks I'm crazy.
