I'd definitely re-sign Backlund, however I would hesitate to say he will be part of our core in the future. I think that title should be reserved for players such as Monahan, Bennett, Poirier, Ortio, and Brodie (Who, as of this year, I would say already is part of our core).

Would love to keep him around as a #3 centre though. $4mil per season might seem high, but with the new CBA everyone seems to be making more, even Engelland makes $2.9mil...
