and I'd give those percentages of 5% / 10% and 85% which I think complicates the hell out of things.
My hope is that they stand up and dump assets that they felt they'd dump back in September and ignore the standings. That takes some sack, but its the right thing to do with a young team and prospects on the way. Plus they may just win without those guys anyway.

I am not sure plan A,B &C would look all that much different.
Just my 2 cents of course but
The only UFA that matters if dealt is Glencross. I doubt the plan for him was likely to be based on the standings. They'll keep him if he wants to stay at a contract Burke and co like, no matter where they are. Maybe it impacts if he wants to stay?
I don't think there are many really compelling names to get in the rental pool. Franson? Vermette? Anyone else remotely interesting? There is no gaborik or vanek or even Cammy this year. IMO.
Outside of rentals they need to be on the hunt for D and probably a veteran F or two for the top 6 now or in the summer. If the 'right' deal comes along I think they take it no matter where they sit.
They have a glut of young F all becoming RFAs that they cant keep room for and will want to move a couple out I think. Something like Hanowski for a 5th (not suggesting that specifically - pick whatever player/return you like)
