The AHL team will end up with huge travelling issues like they had in Abbotsford.
Having the team closer to Calgary is somewhat insignificant....more important is the proximity to other teams in the league and to a major airport.
Surprised with this move.

It has already been discussed but it sounds like the California AHL teams would be almost exclusively playing against each other to cut down on travel time and costs.
