Hiller is a decent goalie but every time there's a downlow in the crease play I get scared. I wonder what the stats are on Hiller - what area of the ice are most goals that are scored on him from? I'd guess a lot of them are from in tight, where he just seems to be a spaghetti noodle. Also, teams are very prone to taking shots from the side and behind the net on Hiller. He's not very strong at hugging the post.

I'm not saying Ortio is the answer - it's been one game. However, something's gotta give here. Our goaltending has to be sharper if we're going to make the playoffs.
Agreed. But the thing about that is that is EXACTLY what I thought his biggest problem was last year. He played well in his call-up, but I thought he wasn't strong enough in tight battles and didn't hold his ground. Last night, he was great in that regard.

And he is really good at hugging the post, as you say. I just prefer his style to Hiller's.

I also agree with the many posters who say Hiller makes me nervous. I had total faith in Ortio throughout the game (which I didn't have last year).

I really hope that Hartley decides to run with him while he's hot. Again, what do they have to lose?
