I think its vile to suggest that we are comparing a workplace accident to someone being murdered. There's a huge difference. Trying to minimize when a cop is murdered in the line of duty is rather ridiculous to me. If you had compared a convenience store clerk who was murdered on the job to a police officer being murdered, I'd feel that's a much more accurate comparison.
Furthermore, as society, we should be incredibly concerned anytime an officer is killed in cold blood, given the fact that as much as this thread is rightfully critical of their actions, they are still the ones appointed to uphold the law.
