I use a cyberpower battery b/u unit for my gaming rig so I don't think it caused that but worth looking into for sure.
I'm sure it was just getting old. Power Supplies are one part that are hard to blow dust out of. It's been running a pretty big rig for about 5 yrs now so it was probably due to go. Just never heard one actually pop like that before.
