Jon Gillies was again named the Hockey East goalie of the month. This marks two consecutive months that Gillies has received the honour this season.

The first college ranking polls of 2015 were also released yesterday...

BU spent the Christmas break as the top-ranked team in the nation on both of the major polls. This week, North Dakota reclaimed the top spot and BU dropped back to #2.

Colgate's hot start saw them reach all the way up to #4 early in the year, but they've since cooled off and have settled into the bottom half of the top 20 rankings. This week, they're 17th on the USCHO.com poll and off the top 15 in the USA Today poll (they would also be 17th if USA Today went to 20).

After a number of weeks just outside the top 15 on the USA Today and sitting near the bottom of the top 20 on the USCHO.com poll, Providence's strong performance after Christmas has seen them get back in the picture. This week, the Friars are 14th on the USCHO.com poll, and 13th on the USA Today poll.

Looking at the Pairwise rankings that the NCAA uses to determine the 10 teams who will be invited to join the 6 conference champions in the Frozen Four tournament, BU and PC are both looking good for an invite, while Colgate and MSU will either need to have a strong second half of the season, or win their conferences: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/ncaapwcr.php

BU is currently 7th in the Pairwise. PC is tied for 10th, Colgate is 18th, and MSU is 41st.
