The other issue at play here is that NFL stupidly slams together individual refs into a crew for playoffs, after having them in the same crews for the 17 week season.
As was said on the broadcast, it's not even all-stars yet....70 of the 110 refs make it to the post season, the best of the best then get to to the AFC/NFC Championship games and Superbowl.
Had this been a crew that had been together all season, not a bunch of random guys who don't know each other as far as being able to communicate, I can almost guarantee they would've communicated better and either confirmed or pulled the call back before announcing it.
