Rogues have been the dps kings and queens in Dragon Age. Don't know if that's different in Inquisition.
Overall the mages have been the most powerful class - and probably still are in many ways - but limiting the characters to 8 skills is big indirect nerf. The two big things the mages have in Inquisition are mobility which is ridiculously good with the phase jump skill and the barrier spell. Those and the way mana works make the mage experience very different in Inquisition.
There are probably some sneakily OP spells there. Like dispel is a great spell that some people might not carry. A low cooldown area purge with combo detonation and a damage increase buff, very powerful but easy to forget. At the same time some of the spells need to be reworked to make more sense.
