Don't know if it's been brought up yet, but everyone is talking about Johnny being a Calder candidate, but is this kid also a Lady Byng candidate?
He's one of four players who currently have gone unpenalized this season, and have played more than 30 games. The other three are Fowler, Ceci and Johannson. He leads them all in offensive stats.
Recently, teams have been sending out guys to play him pretty physical, but I've personally never seen much retaliation from Johnny, aside from making them look foolish and putting his name on the scoresheet. He handles the pressure incredibly well, and lets his skill do the talking for him. Obviously, size plays a role in this I'm sure, as he's smarter than to start chirping or throwing post whistle sucker punches, though long time Flames fans, know a small guy is very capable of exactly those things.
I personally think he should be in the running if he plays another 38 games the same way he's played his first 38.
