I wouldn't say the Top 6 is crowded. Gaudreau, Hudler, Monahan and Glencross are the only guys you could call top 2 line players and including Glencross is generous.
In three years the top 6 will include: Gaudreau, Bennett, Monahan. Maybe Hudler if he's still around. Hopefully Poirier can be included.
Byron will never be a legit top 6 player in the NHL. He clearly doesn't have the hands to be one. He can be a respectable bottom 6 guy but the Flames have a lot of bottom 6 guys. Not sure if they have room for him long term.
