I can see what they like about him. Defensively he's good, but still has room to grow. Offensively he has very silky hands and great vision. His shot leaves something to be desired, but he has very good passing skills. His skating isn't the greatest, but he has excellent size (6'3" 213lbs.). He's also just 19 playing his 2nd full season in the NHL. He's had an awful sophomore slump this year, but he's starting to pull out of his funk. He had 24 points in 54 games as a rookie 18 year old center last year, and was only -3 on a team with a terrible goal differential.
Barkov is going to be good, but it will take at least 2 or 3 more years before you see his full potential. Probably more of a Kopitar type player than anything. Bjugstad reminds me of a better overall Jeff Carter.
