Superb.
I don't think we played that badly at any point in this game. We just got slightly outmatched by a committed and motivated Oilers team that I thought played really well for the most part tonight.
From the third period onwards, once we upped our work rate and Hartley juggled the lines, we took control I thought and even when we went 3-2 down we still looked more likely to win the game. Chuffed for some of the lads out there tonight, Colborne and Jooris especially. Colborne has been playing well without putting up points of late, so its great to see him put in 3 goals in these last few games. And as for Jooris, he put in another tireless display and so deserved the OT winner.
Another 2 assists for Monahan, is it any surprise that his productivity spiked once he was put on a shift with Colborne? Hartley, if you take nothing else from tonight, please keep those 2 together, they are gold. Its also obvious(although I don't blame Hartley for not going straight to it) that Jooris is the best centre for Hudler and Gaudreau. Colborne, Glencross and Monahan. Granlund, Byron and Jones for the 3rd, Stajan, Bouma and Bollig for the 4th. Sorted.
Like I said, not at all concerned with any of the potential negatives, we just came up against the Oilers in the mood to play and give them credit, they made a real game of it tonight and made it a proper contest, not like the rollovers the last 2 games have been.
4 wins in a row is going someway to equalising the 8 in a row we lost when we didn't deserve to. Roll on Friday.
