Yes, I realize that, but when your career stats have you trending under 20 goals  on average after 8 seasons, I tend to consider a year like this one more of an anomaly than the expected norm for a player. Besides which, scoring pace and what the player actually scores are two different things.
They will regret this deal. Foligno doesn't have the talent to be a perennial 40, or even 30, goal scorer. They will be lucky to get 20 goals a year from him. It's a lot of money and a lot of years to give to a player like Foligno who is likely a 2nd line winger and not much more.
