Hockey Canada saw Vancouver and Ottawa generate huge buzz and revenues, and simply assumed that the gravy train would roll without issue if they kept getting bigger and bigger. It worked in Calgary and Edmonton, but HC significantly overestimated how much they could gouge fans this time around. Especially in Montreal.

It will be interesting to see what they do for pricing in 2017.
