Teams have been getting back into action with some post-Christmas tournaments...

Michigan State participated in the Great Lakes Invitational, a four-team tournament of Michigan-based colleges held at the Joe Louis Arena.

MSU defeated Ferris State 2-0 on Sunday and lost 2-1 to Michigan on Monday. DeBlouw had no points in the two games.

Colgate is participating in the Three Rivers Classic at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

They won their first game on Monday, 2-1 over Western Michigan. Tim Harrison scored the game-winning-goal and was named the second star of the game. Harrison now has 4 goals on the season, and 3 of them have been the GWG. He now leads Colgate in GWGs.

Colgate's second game of the tournament goes Tuesday night vs. Robert Morris.

Providence participated in the Catamount Cup at Vermont. They won the tournament with two convincing wins. They defeated UMass 4-1 on Sunday and tournament host, Vermont, 3-0 on Monday.

Jankowski had 1G/1A in Sunday's game. His goal was the GWG and he was named the game's first star. Gillies stopped 22 of 23 shots on Sunday and was named the game's second star.

Jankowski was kept off the score sheet on Monday. Gillies stopped all 29 shots he faced for the win and was named third star of the game. It was Gillies' 4th shutout of the season, and 13th of his college career (he keeps adding to his Providence College record with every shutout).

Gilmour had no points over the two games.

Also of note, Saturday night at 5:00pm MT, TSN3 will be broadcasting the Union @ Boston University game. BU wunderkind Jack Eichel (and possible future-Oiler ) will still be at the World Juniors, but we'll be able to watch Brandon Hickey in action for the Terriers.
