Finally finished it (with the help of older nvidia drivers). It's very good but still my least favorite Dragon Age game.
The best part is the map design which is far superior to the previous games. The characters are interesting enough but I felt that you don't really get to know them as well as in the previous games. Seemed more distant and less personal, less to find out, less to draw from as a player. I cared less about these characters than in previous games.
Similarly, I found it harder to project personality into the my own character. Left a slightly bland taste.
Hawke's role was disappointing and the issue of the character creation tool not matching what ends up in the game engine made it impossible to get a good visual approximation of my character in DA2. Sounded like they're using Hawke to set up events in the next games though.
Story is okay but not memorable. Difficult to maintain narrative momentum when there are so many maps to explore. The most interesting turn of events occurs after the credits. Right now it kind of feels like they made this massive game to set up more interesting events that will happen in the future.
No Sandal?! Cash-grab DLC coming up, no doubt.
