I keep seeing this narrative that we won because the Kings let the Flames or because they stopped playing. That's just as true as the Flames started pressing the issue

I tend to disagree with you on Kings letting off. They were still hitting and forechecking in the 3rd period. The two goals Gaudreau scored to tied the game was with the Flames extra man. Of course one of the goal was just fluke and lucky goal. I think the Flames deserves a credit for not giving up. They were awful on the first period because they were down early on a bad goal given up by Hiller.
