I think there is more to this than North Korea. Why would they want to start a war over a movie? If they pulled a 9-11 they don't think the USA would drop a bunch of freedom on them?

I think Sony has something to hide that hasn't been leaked, and they're really scared that it'll get out. When they were first hacked the demands were for money, and had nothing to do with the film.
