There have been other mistakes too, but hiring the flavour of the month coach every two years (or less) hasn't helped either I'm sure.

I agree, when players know what is expected of them now, and into the future it's easier for them to prepare, and perform. Puts the mind of the players at ease... They can just, play.
For me this just adds to the foundation from the top to the bottom. Calgary seems to have stability for the first time in awhile. On top of that there seems to be a lot of communication among everyone involved in management and coaching, and they all seem to know what is going on.
