I think it's because it is the most attacked. North Americans tend to like North American sports, and a lot of people bash soccer because they don't like it and don't get why billions do.
Those of us in NA who actually watch soccer are a minority compared to other major sports, so we have to be extra vocal to counteract being outnumbered.
