I am happy with this. The results so far have been close to, or slightly better than what we could have expected given the rebuild and the roster upheaval. As others have mentioned, it is the culture and work ethic that stands out. I don't think that it is fair to use win/losses to define his tenure to date. Eventually that will be the measuring stick, but not now. Right now, it is about developing players and good professionals and Hartley seems to be doing well.
Mainly though, I think that lame duck coaches are just not their best and the longer the season was to go on without security, the more coaches tend to make decisions for job security purposes instead of ones that might have long term benefits. It's only natural.
