"Real opposition" doesn't mean they had any solutions, just that they were gaining support. Show me their plans, because I've read their platform twice over a 12 month period and it's seriously fluff. A bunch of "rawr ... MLA pay, government pay" small potatoes and then some mystery plan to account for the rest.
Lack of attachment to reality is thinking that they had any clue how to fix this province financially.
They're a joke.
