I just don't see that "piece" or "pieces" waiving a movement clause, which is 80% of the players that Oilers would be looking at, would have. Even if the other team would like to make the trade, it doesn't get past the player.
Lowe has run that organization's reputation into the ground for 8+ years. There's a reason they have (or had, since Pronger) no legit/significant character vets though FA, or through trades over the years to help those young guys develop properly. He's burned so many bridges and players with his double talk to try and get players to get there...that's blown up in his face, caused the team to fall into decay and had them draft players first overall as many times as they have. It's also forced them to overpay the players they had after the Cup run, and broken down players like Khabibuhlin cashed in with a 5 year deal with a back that had 2 years left.
Lowe being there doesn't change anything...coaches, GM's, good rookie talent...all going nowhere because they can't attract the other peices via trades or UFA because of the garbage Lowe has done to piss off enough players over the years...and its getting worse.
