I have no issue with the services Shaw provides though. My Internet is always up and no issues downloading or streaming. I can record up to 6 HD feeds at once on my Gateway without issues. I am not under contract and can leave whenever I want.

Yeah, I've had maybe 2-3 issues total with Shaw in almost 10 years. Never any significant outages, speeds stable during the evening, etc. If they'd stop jacking rates I don't think I'd ever really complain.
I don't know how stable Telus is, but the higher uplink is the most temping. My experience at my parents house was pretty good and I'd have no TV service to siphon downlink.
