Dont be saying you'd rather have a rookie than a vet when that guy has been injured for a month while the rookie has been playing.
These guys are NHL vets for a reason and what we're seeing is excellent man-management from the team. One of the biggest obstacles rookies face aside from the speed of the pro-game is the schedule. The 82 game grind is brutal, thats why depth is key, especially when rookies start fizzling out.
Vets know all about those slumps and have the experience to work through them, the rookies have to learn that still.
So saying that you'd rather have Ferland than Colborne while considering Colborne's contract and the fact that hes just coming back from injury is not the world's most sensible statement.
