In all honesty and I'm sure most wont agree but I would rather watch him then Stajan, Bollig, McGrattan, Raymond or Colborne. Ferland going back down to the AHL is certainly not a negative thing at this point in his career but Treliving has to figure out how to make room for these young guys knocking at the door.

I think everyone here would rather watch Ferland over those guys, but they are all still assets and you can't just dump them off for nothing.
Plus, it won't hurt Ferland at all to get more seasoning in the minors. Kid played well but at the end of the day, he still only collected 1 assist in the 8 or 9 games he played.
He's a better player than a 4th line plugger, he needs to be putting up points, so getting back into that scoring feel down in the AHL is perfect for him.
I think if he continues to score in the AHL, he'll be up here for good by the end of the season. Hartley gushes about him every time he talks about him.
