I have no issues with Engelland's play. He has been exactly as advertised for a 6th/7th defenceman. I may have a problem with his AAV, but that's not his fault & another issue entirely.

Smid has been disappointing this season. He's been a warrior & has sacrificed his body a lot, so I wonder if he might be playing hurt. Either that or he has Oileritis and can't remember how to play in the defensive zone or transition out of it.

I wouldn't advocate trading either of them, but if Wotherspoon was a better option then it wouldn't hurt to have one of them sitting in the pressbox every other game.
