Considering how good the pairing has been, it's almost impossible not for them to regress in "results" going forward. The Flames as a whole have overachieved in shooting percentage (they shouldn't really be an elite scoring team), so it's no surprise to me that Gio and Brodie have been the beneficiary of that.

My take is that the pairing will continue to dominate because there is no reason to suggest their "actual" play is not derived from skill. That wont change. The insanely great results that they have been getting I would expect to slow down because it's at a near impossible level to sustain.

Nothing wrong with that. The way the article was written was very misleading and came to the wrong conclusion. Neither player is overrated, they just wont get as many goals/assists going forward that their early season rates would suggest. But I wouldn't need to review a bunch of "fancy stats" to get there... a cursory review of their prior track records would show they aren't true talent level point per game players (like no defensemen are). They aren't really leaping much to suggest that.
