They also have no long-term vision. Look at my point about the Phaneuf trade, that was ugly at the time but is currently working out great!
If given the chance I wouldnt undo that trade.
But Sutter was and still is roasted alive for that one which is something that the Oiler management just cant handle. They've been treated as heroes for so long in Edmonton that they just cant have it any other way.
And you're right, they're stuck. They want what they perceive as 'fair value' for their assets and are stuck at that. So they dont make any moves or changes so that they're not getting fleeced on value, but as a result they're paralyzed and not moving the organization towards any kind of long-term goal.
Basically, they have no balls.
