I have much more respect for a guy like Giordano, who was undrafted, played in the KHL & AHL, only to crack the lineup in the NHL and "hard work" his way into a leadership position. I believe Gio is the type of leader that will take teams to the next level and win.

The "hate" you're sensing is really just pent up frustration from years of mediocrity, and only now, years later, seeing the reason why that existed.
I understand your sentiment but disagree with placing any sort of blame at the feet of Iginla. Is Brown some super captain? Kings aren't really dependent on him being this flawless leader type. We just didn't have a team that was good enough, 1-23

We weren't drafting worth a fata (literally, our 1st rounders under Sutter were not even as good as Rico Fata). There was no Sutter-era equivalent to Monahan, Gaudreau, Brodie, and so on. That's the main difference. We're not this lunch bucket team being lead above our heads by super-leader Gio. There is just lots of talent.
