It would have been special indeed. We wouldn't have Monahan or Bennett and we would have had yet another reason not to rebuild. Heck, Iginla may have even stayed on with his new number one centre. In which case we would have kept Bouwmeester as well and probably never made the Tanguay trade.

If it all turned out we could still be watching a team mail it in every night. Meanwhile we would be down 4 first round picks (our 2 for O'Reilly plus the ones we didn't get in the Iginla and Bouwmeester trsdes) so we would be concerned we don't have a farm system. Plus, no cap space to fix things.

That would be great.
