Gotta say, the respect I have had for the Ti-Cats is being seriously diminished by their gripping over a call that was made exactly as the rules stipulate and exactly as it is called almost every game in this league. Credit to most of their fans, who from what I have read online, accept that the correct and necessary call was made on the field.
Austin is right that not everything gets called on kick returns. But you know what does always get called? When there's clear illegal block on the first guy down the field. Because the officiating crew position themselves to see the plays that are typically have the greatest impact on the play, and then call any infraction that they see. Hard to say what impact this illegal block had on the return, but it nonetheless happened exactly where high-impact infractions tend to happen, and right where the officiating crew was focusing, as they should have been.
