The first reaction to numbers like this is that they should normalize.
But I again go back to the way they play defense.
The Flames collapse and try to block lanes with their sticks.
When the other team has the puck in the corner, what the Flames
don't do (as much as most teams) is attack him one on one with physicality - which is probably the most likely situation in a game to draw a penalty.
On the offensive side, if you skate, you will draw penalties.
Once again, are the Flames an outlier due to style of play? Or will things normalize?
