What do you mean when you say there's "no excuse?" Do you think that suicide-committers (is there a word for that?) are asking you to excuse them for their irrational actions?
Or do you really mean that there's no valid
reason? Perhaps there isn't a valid reason for committing suicide in most cases (e.g. jumpers). In the majority of cases, there are alternatives that would probably get them out of their troubles, that they can't see at the time but any rational person would. That doesn't change the fact that to the individual, suicide might seem like the best option.
To be blunt, you can't reason with a crazy person...and by any standard, one would have to be crazy to decide to kill himself. Therefore, if you really believe that suicide "shouldn't happen" in this country, then the only party that can be at fault is society itself, and those so-called rational people who should be helping out the crazies.
What are YOU doing to stop suicide?
If you want to talk about "excuses," why don't you focus on the people who are still alive....
