No. The majority of fans thought the signing was a no risk proposition and were quite OK with it.
If the Flames call him back up it will be because he's found his game in the AHL. And that would be a good thing.
The kid had effort. He couldn't score. He was a minus player. All of that is true. +/- was not a big issue for me - it's not a good stat. He wasn't a minus most games - he got many of them in the worst games the Flames played (St. Louis, Carolina, Fla). He had a pretty good stretch of play in the middle of the eastern road trip. At the end of the day he was outperformed by Ferland and that's the reason he's down. It would have happened sooner absent injuries.
I hope he can turn things around for himself.
