I think there is a difference between chasing money, and not caring at all about money. Iggy clearly wasn't willing to play for league min. to simply have a shot, he clearly wanted some term and cash, as well as play for a team he thought had a choice, and I don't fault him at all for that, makes sense.
Where he made his mistake, I think is judging how close the Avs were (maybe, or maybe they'll bounce back (doubt it)). I think he's shown some fairly poor judgement on that front often, potentially even in Calgary with how close he thought we were in the past, to forcing Pittsburgh over Boston when we traded him. I think he's got fairly poor team needs / abilities judgement in my opinion. This was more about that IMO than chasing money.
