The competition he created in camp and since as a very obviously target for the rookies to feel like they needed to out perform made the signing worth it.
I guess you could say it's too bad it didn't work out for the Flames, but I'm more glad a gluten of our rookies outplayed him badly and forced him down to the farm. Kind of a great out come for the team, wouldn't have happened even last year, despite Seto's poor play because our young guys still wouldn't have been besting him badly enough. Shows great growth for our prospects.
