I agree that they should be more worried about the future than today. The Topic is about acquiring a #3 Dman but I don't think that is the biggest need. I only see the Flames making trades for age appropriate targets, guys that have 5-10+ seasons left where they can contribute. That is a reason I think they chased free agents like Raymond and Seto rather than Vrbata (who Treliving had a history with).
One thing that is clear to me the Flsmes likely have a prospect or 2 they could entertain moving for a guy like an Oshie or Stewart (examples of 26/27 year old players that help now and tomorrow). Reinhart, Sven are 2 guys I could see them moving as examples
