Some of the things that struck me from last night.
1) I don't believe that the prosecutor did a great job with the grand Jury, it sounds like he just dumped everything on the Grand Jury but didn't do any framing of the evidence. I've heard that from a couple of news sources.
2) You can't push to indict just to defuse a tense situation, going by a bunch of stuff I watched, it sounds like the inconsistency of some of the key witnesses and the discovery of Brown's DNA on the gun were pretty damning, as well as the audio recording of shots and then long pause and shots matches Wilson's story. They had no reason not to believe Wilson in this case.
3) In terms of the riots, my first thought as the businesses were looted and went up in flames is that those businesses are not coming back to Ferguson. Why would they? They'll cash out their insurance and move to somplace safer.
4) It just seems that the whole riot was a disgrace and had little to do with the protest of the shooting, it was a group infiltrated by idiots who wanted to burn and loot.
5) This will probably raise the distrust of cops nation wide in the States. Police have to start wearing cameras on their vests and have dash board cams on their cars. I would argue that even with manpower situations there should be no way that there are individual cops on patrol, they should absolutely partner up.
6) How many people just went to the protests to stir things up. I almost don't blame the fire department for not responding when there are gun shots and looters.
7) This shows how bad race relations are in the states. The Whites and Blacks were all to blame for this debacle, and the civic leaders did a horrible job of calming this down.
