There is absolutely no reason to build a new stadium and not accomodate future growth into soccer. That is short-sighted and a hugely missed business opportunity. I'm pretty sure any new arena/stadium plans are going to include the growth of soccer in this city. In fact, I would put money on it, considering a future pro soccer team is likely going to involve the Flames ownership group.

It also doesn't help that we're behind on field houses in this city. Infrastructure development has been a serious problem for growing the sport. Edmonton already has three.

If lacrosse can get going in this city with a proper stadium, soccer most definitely can too.
