Yea, he took Khabibulin's medal in 1992 because he felt that a 3rd goalie didn't need one. That didn't go over well with most of that team. I think that is where he lost everyone that hadn't completely turned on him already.
He punched Mogilny once too on the bench in 1988.
Have to imagine the pressure he was under to win, especially under the communist regime was pretty intense. Pretty much a win or go missing situation for some of those games.
