Just got to see the highlights in detail, after being stuck in a bar in Vancouver where they stubbornly refused to move the TVs off TSN all night. Funnily enough was watching the score on the iPhone app, and with 5 sec left thought...oh well....when the score changed to show the tie - I just about jumped out of my seat! Was then listening on my phone to the last shot of the shootout just starting when my niece pointed at my phone, showing the win!
Watching the highlights I'm amazed at two things: the short, smart passes in the scrambles on the final two goals to get the tie. Short enough they couldn't be bounced around by anyone else or intercepted..and so fast!! I got tired of watching "the old Flames" fumble for the puck because they simply didn't think fast enough to react fast enough -- not these guys. They are speedy.
The other thing was the deafening roar of the crowd on the last goal (and actually most of the time). Wow. That is great to hear! I had to give up my seasons for this year because we've moved away from Calgary -- crappy timing!! It's great to hear the faithful solidly behind the team.
