Default 6.7 M Earthquake in Nagano Japan

Normally in Fukuoka, but back in Ueda, Nagano (my wife's hometown) for family support for our newborn daughter.

Was woekn up last night by a strong earthquake. Had felt others in the past, I can recall about 4 others since moving to Japan since May 2012 but this one was different; much longer in duration and much more forceful.

Spent the morning today cleaning the house. Pretty much everything on shelves or hanging was on the floor. No injuries (besides a paperback in the face) and the house is standing strong so all in all turned out ok.

Closer to the epicenter in Hakuba, Nagano there was more damage and reported injuries.
