Hypothetically of course (because this probably wouldn't even happen to the Oilers) if someone kicked the puck from the hashmarks and it hit the goalie and went in, would it count?

Miller has to assume he's trying to stop a shot, not a kick. That puck would have gone if Miller touched it or not.
I like the rule the way it is. I don't want to see players kicking the puck soccer style towards the net hoping it would bounce off the goalie for a good goal.
