I have to agree with this unfortunately. No fan base deserves to suffer like that and they still come back every year nearly as optimistic as the last. I don't know if we could say the same if our team bombed for 10 years straight. The kool aid up there is so strong its like a cult.
The Canucks have the advantage of being in a higher population centre and there is more of them I find than Flames fans. They have a bit of the same out of market support as the Leafs Habs. Fans not originally from the region actually like the team all across Canada. I haven't seen to much of that for our Flames outside of transplanted Albertans. That probably has a lot to do with all the "Canada's Team" bandwagoners every year and them being one of the only Canadian teams that has consistently gone deep in the playoffs for the last few years until recently.
