It was definitely a strong episode, good writing.
It was nice to see Jax acknowledge his mistakes and how his thirst for revenge led him to just make some rash decision which led to a number of deaths. What got annoying was how many times people kept asking Jax what was going on and he just kept saying it was family stuff and that he needed to talk to Gemma. Did no one connect any dots there? They really needed Jax to spell it out.
I liked that Juice just came clean. I thought he was going to protect Gemma or try and bargain to get out of his current predicament. I guess it may have been a bit of a release for him to finally just say the truth. A bit of redemption for him. I did actually feel somewhat bad for him for the first time since he went into prison.
I loved how when Jax told Nero about Gemma they first had a shot of Jax beginning the story and then mid sentence they cut to Nero, so you don't hear the story again. You just focus on Nero's reaction, and Gemma's just staring straight ahead. Really well done. He also got to say "Mano."
I like that Nero slowly became a sort of father figure to Jax. He never had a solid influence like Nero. Granted, Nero's also a criminal, but he seems to also have some boundaries and seems honourable as well. I liked the scene with Jax breaking down and Nero comforting him.
I could almost see this going the way of Jax dying. How can he possibly get things smoothed over for killing the other chapter's president? I doubt he wants prison. And after that car chase, there's no way there's a positive end. He's done some awful stuff. He fell into the same shoes that Clay wore. He killed people and innocent people died as a result of his actions.
I greatly enjoyed Unser finally saying something, putting his foot down with the club. He got punched for it, but thems the breaks I guess.
Really looking forward to the next episode. Too bad we have to wait a bit for it.
